Nexus, a pseudonym for Brian Smith, hails from Maynooth and is currently producing Electronica, Electroacoustic, Acousmatic and Tape music which is, in his own words, insanophonic.

There is a general melding of 'serious' electronic music and 'not very serious' music in his work, as his music had been performed at formal concerts and also informal gig-type jobbies. But he reckons the divide between 'serious' and 'not serious' and their applications as genre definitions is "bullshit".

He is also a DJ of Drum and Bass, Ambient, Breakcore and Electronica.
