06/06/2006: "Liffey infested with rubber ducks!!!"

An Ultimate Comment 'Third Eye on Dublin' reporter has sighted thousands upon thousands of yellow rubber ducks clogging up the beautiful river that runs at the heart of Dublin.
It is important to note seeing as most people around Dublin have been commenting endlessly about it. This event seems to be an important social device as people have been observed to stop in mid-stride when'st crossing the Ha'penny bridge to ask complete strangers why there are 150,000 inanimate ducks in the Liffey. This interaction not only happened on the Ha'penny bridge, but on various streets around the Inner City and in many pubs and nightclubs.
Whether the sentence: "Hav ye seen all dem ducks in de liffey luv?" was, indeed, used as a chat-up line remains to be confirmed.

It was for a charity, the name and cause of which is still undetermined by Dubliners.
Apparently it was intended to break a world record, more than likely to be the "Most confused Irish people crossing the Ha'penny Bridge in one Day" record. The amount of money raised for said charity is unknown by the Commenting community, but one thing we do know is this;
putting thousands of yellow ducks in the Liffey makes strangers talk to each other, commenting on the odd situation they are in, giving Dubliners a sense of community and enforcing valued Ultimate Comment theories.

Pranks and The Ultimate Comment seem to go hand in hand.
